Northeast Creeking
NECreeking.com is a site designed for collecting
data on exploratory runs done in the greater Northeast. There are a lot of us who search on the topo
maps for the tiniest stream that might be runnable, and because there's no reliable source of data
on which creeks have been checked out and which haven't, we've undoubtedly wasted a day or
more looking at creeks that someone else has already discovered were too small, too steep, or just
not there. So this site is supposed to be a database of creeks we've found in the Northeast, ideally
allowing people to share their local micros and to warn people about creeks that aren't worth their time.
Visitors can upload rivers and pictures, as well as comment on already uploaded rivers.
Let me know if you've got any suggestions, and please! Upload your rivers.
A quick note - please make sure you include putin coordinates if possible when you're uploading
(and in the right format!) so that the river will be displayed on the map, which seems like it could
be a really useful feature. |
